A mobile crane has tipped over this morning on a site in Sydney, Australia, landing on a steel structure and injuring a man on a scissor lift.
The crane was erecting steel work when it tipped at a building site next to St Catherine of Siena school in the Prestons area of Sydney. Local reports say that the crane’s boom struck a scissor lift, fracturing the shoulder of the 27 year old steel worker that was using it.
It is not really clear what caused the crane, a four axle Tadano truck crane owned by steel frame manufacturer Southern Cross Rigging and Constructions, to tip.
Work cover is investigating the accident.
